Germany has beaten France on penalties to reach the Women’s European Championship semifinals. The team played nearly the entire match with 10 players after Kathrin Hendrich received a red card early in the game.

France captain Mbock makes her first start start of the tournament having recovered from her calf injury. That means it's a new centre-back partnership for Les Bleues. Alongside the Paris Saint-Germain defender is Maelle Lakrar who also makes her return after a two-game absence with a hamstring injury.
