A tornado damaged a barn in Middlefield on Tuesday night, leaving horses injured as severe weather passed through the area.

Two short-lived tornadoes touched down in northern Ohio Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, associated with a cluster of strong thunderstorms that moved northeast across Ohio.

The downtown historic district is the third place in Newton Falls to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The other two are the covered bridge and the former USO Center in the park.
