Winning their first Cup last season by defeating the Oilers in Game 7, the Panthers are just the seventh franchise in NHL history to win each of their first two Cups on home ice. After netting the game-winning goal in last year’s Cup-clinching win, Sam Reinhart provided the heroics once again, scoring four goals in an overall dominant effort.

After winning their second straight Stanley Cup, the Panthers expect to hold their championship parade on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Sunday.

Bottom-pairing defenseman Nate Schmidt is also set to hit free agency. So is backup goaltender Vitek Vanecek, who has recorded limited playing time and made no postseason appearances since his midseason trade from the San Jose Sharks.

The Panthers now have two titles (2024 and 2025), the same as the Dolphins (1972 and 1973) and the Florida/Miami Marlins (1997 and 2003). They Heat won in 2006, 2012, and 2013.

The Florida Panthers are on the doorstep of potentially clinching a second straight Stanley Cup title. Florida will have a chance to win in front of its fanbase again, hosting Game 6 of the series against the Edmonton Oilers.
