With the pall of an impending end hanging over campus all year, the ax finally dropped Monday. While not official, a report from The Philadelphia Inquirer confirmed that the Pennsylvania State University administration planned for its Wilkes-Barre campus to be among seven Commonwealth campuses closing in the near future.

Jeffrey Osgood, executive vice president and chief academic officer at West Chester University, is being recommended to fill the vacancy at Commonwealth University.
