German national visas (category D) and German national residence permits entitle their holders to travel to the other Schengen member states for a maximum of 90 in 180 days. No additional Schengen visa (category C) is needed.

British citizens do not require a visa for the Schengen States if the duration of their stay does not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period. Please note that you may not pursue any economic activity in Germany unless such activity is explicitly authorised by a visa or a residence permit issued in Germany.
