Nyani, member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard's Medical Detachment, came to the United States and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Langston University. Her decision to join ultimately stemmed from the Oklahoma National Guard's free tuition waiver, and now uses her expertise to serve her state and nation as a commissioned officer.
