You can grow citrus even if it’s not hardy enough for your zone. I’m zone 8a and most citrus needs zone 9 or warmer to be able to survive in the ground. There are several cold tolerant varieties especially Satsumas (I want one!) that you can purchase and plant in ground. I am growing two Meyer lemon trees I purchased locally, one lemon tree from seed as an experiment and one avocado tree in my rolling containers. I recently potted them up into these containers using @soil3 and Kickass Frass Plan
